Guidelines

Please enjoy Talkback – it's here for you to debate, learn, inform, feedback and share your opinions and criticism (both positive and negative). Your questions may already be answered on the FAQs page or elsewhere on the site so, if you're searching for information, please have a browse around before posting.

To post a message on Talkback, you need to register

So that everyone can enjoy and benefit from these boards, please:

1. Don't abuse other Talkback users. Harassing, derogatory, flaming or abusive messages will be removed.

2. Don't post obscene or offensive messages. Personal comments will be removed if they cause offense, whether to actors, staff or other Talkback users.

3. Don't spam - post your message on one board only, and keep it relevant. Duplicates will be removed.

4. Be aware of the law - you may not post defamatory or illegal material on Talkback. Also, only post messages for which you have the copyright (this is especially relevant for reviews: you may quote a review, but you are not allowed to copy it in its entirety - most papers have reviews online and you are free to post a link to their site from ours).

5. Please don't post reviews of shows before the press night.

6. Some people don't like to know what happens in a production, especially if there are any surprises, so if you want to talk about the plot, please put the word SPOILER above the lines where you do so.

Messages are likely to be removed from Talkback if they don't follow these guidelines.

General complaints posted on Talkback may not receive an online reply from the NT. If you have a specific complaint please send an e-mail with full details to

If you have any problems with Talkback, please email marketing@nationaltheatre.org.uk.

Happy posting...

Talkback is monitored by NT Marketing and Press and we will try to answer your questions or pass them on to the relevant department. Please be aware that providing a full response may, on occasion, take some time and the input of many different departments.
