Why support the National Theatre

Why support the National Theatre?

Productions

In our three theatres on the South Bank in London, we present an eclectic mix of 22 new plays and classics each year. We are committed to making the National Theatre accessible to the widest possible audience. Since 2003, support from Travelex has meant we can offer 200,000 seats a year at just £10.

The National also has an extensive programme of Platform performances, backstage tours, foyer music, exhibitions and free outdoor entertainment all of which recognise that the theatre doesn't begin and end with the fall and rise of the curtain.

NT Studio

The National takes a particular responsibility for new work. The NT Studio offers a space for research and development for the NT's stages and theatre as a whole. Located on The Cut in Waterloo, it provides a workspace outside the confines of the rehearsal room where artists can experiment and develop skills.

Touring

As a truly national theatre, we tour our work and collaborate with other companies, fostering the health of the wider British theatre.
