Vamps, Vixens and Feminists:
The Elephant in the Room

Tuesday June 16th 10.00am to 1.30 pm in the Olivier Theatre at the National Theatre.
 
Sphinx Theatre Company, the Arts Council England, the Writers’ Guild, the Directors Guild of Great Britain, Equity and Women in Film and Television, and the UK Film Council, invite you to attend this landmark conference discussing the issues around women’s employment and representation in theatre, television and film.

The event will entail a number of panel discussions including: Roles for Women, The Female Stereotype and Writing for Women.

Confirmed speakers include:

Actress Kate Buffery, Channel 4’s Director of Diversity Oona King, playwright Tanika Gupta, theatre director Lucy Pitman-Wallace, Executive Producer BBC Drama Hilary Salmon, Professor Vivien Gardner of Manchester University , President of the Writers’ Guild David Edgar, Writer and Actress Tracy Brabin, Director of Drama at ITV Laura Mackie, Journalist and Writer Beatrix Campbell, Director of the Fawcett Society Katherine Rake, and  Angela McRobbie Professor of Communications at Goldsmiths College, London University.
