4 STARS 'Bracing, combative and oddly joyous... Highly recommended.' Independent
4 STARS Whatsonstage, Daily Express
Based on real events, Mixed Up North is a fiercely funny and moving new play about an attempt to unite communities in the Lancashire mill town of Burnley.
Trish leads a youth theatre group designed to bring Asian and White teenagers together. As she struggles to share her artistic vision with a cast who think acting is “gay”, the compelling stories of the young stars unfold.
Max Stafford-Clark directed The Overwhelming and The Permanent Way for Out of Joint and the NT.
